Political Disclosures

Political Disclosures

The State Government has recently introduced the Local Government and Planning Legislation Amendment (Political Donations) Act 2008. The Act amends both the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 and the Local Government Act 1993 and is effective from October 1, 2008.

The purpose of the amendments is to require the disclosure of relevant political donations or gifts when planning or development applications are made.

Failure to make a declaration of a reportable donation is an offence.

If you are lodging a submission in support or opposition to a planning or development application with Council, you too will need to disclose any political donations or gifts that you may have made in the past two years. The form that needs to be filled in and attached to your submission is at Download Political_disclosures.pdf Political discloures (141KB)
