Prepare your Development Application

Prepare your Development Application

Preparing a Development Application (also known as DA) can be a complex process, which you should not attempt to tackle yourself unless you have a good knowledge of the legal requirements and of Council's planning controls. Incomplete or incorrectly prepared application may result in unnecessary delays and additional costs.

Before preparing a Development Application, you should contact Council to:

  • Check whether the proposed development is permissible
  • Check whether a DA is required
  • Check how Council's DCPs affect the proposed development
  • Obtain copies of the information necessary to submit a DA
  • Obtain advice on the required DA fees.

The following information provides some background on what you need to consider when preparing a DA.
