Mayor's Green Grants Program

Submissions are now closed for the 2011/2012 program

What is the Mayor's Green Grants Program?

  • Would your school like to build an organic vegetable garden?
  • Are you and your neighbours interested in planting a native garden to attract wildlife to the local area?
  • Is your community group inspired to run workshops on sustainable living?
  • Does your business have a great idea to develop a system for reducing energy and water use in your operations?

If you have a great idea to improve our local environment, then Kogarah City Council is offering a small grant to help you get started! The Mayor's Green Grants program aims to support community initiatives that address environmental issues such as:

  • Waste minimisation or recycling
  • Sustainable water use
  • Saving energy or greenhouse emissions
  • Improving local biodiversity
  • Education for sustainable living
  • Sustainable transport
  • Fostering environmentally sustainable behavior

The Mayor's Green Grants are open every two years. Kogarah City Council will launch the 2013/2014 program in 2013.
