Community Art Space
Kogarah Library and Cultural Centre's Art Space exhibition program runs throughout the year and shows exhibitions by local artists, art societies, new and emerging artists and community groups. It also hosts national touring exhibitions, the Kogarah Art Prize, local history exhibits and special exhibitions celebrating our community. The main exhibition space is located in the large foyer area of Kogarah Library which is also used for many library programs and events. There are two smaller exhibition spaces also available in the Library.
A new exhibition is installed every few weeks, with the opportunity for new and established local artists to get involved. Exhibitions in the space are selected to reflect the dynamic and innovative diversity that exists in the George's River local government area. The space is available free of charge to successful applicants and is most suited to hanging works for general viewing. Video art may be shown, and there are locked cabinets for displaying ceramics, jewellery or small artworks or collections.
