Rates and Sundry Debtors Payments

Council Rates

Council's rating year commences 1 July and concludes 30 June. Rates are calculated based on the land value of the property, the category and the rate in the dollar. If a property is below a certain land value then a minimum rate may apply.

Rates can be paid in full by the 31 August or by quarterly instalments due 31 August, 30 November, 28 February and 31 May.

To make arrangements to pay your rates or to alert council that you have changed your address, email us at mail@georgesriver.nsw.gov.au or complete the arrangement for payment of rates and charges form and return it to Council. Ratepayers experiencing financial hardship may make other arrangements to pay their rates and charges by contacting Council's Rates department on 9330 9447 or emailing us at mail@georgesriver.nsw.gov.au.
