Tree Management

Tree Management and Preservation

Trees provide many environmental, cultural, health and aesthetic benefits to people and the environment. Council focuses on maintaining a viable and healthy tree population.

Council's tree management goal is to work with the community to preserve the natural character of the area and enrich the natural environment for everyone's benefit.

10/50 Vegetation Clearing Laws

Please be advised that the 10/50 Vegetation Clearing laws do not apply to land within the former Kogarah City Council local government area (LGA). The NSW Government Rural Fires Act - Amendment 10/50 Vegetation Clearing came into effect on 1 August 2014. These laws only apply to land in a designated 10/50 Vegetation Clearing Entitlement Area. There are no Vegetation Clearing Entitlement Areas within the former Kogarah LGA.

Residents are advised to follow the existing Council Tree Management process outlined below.
