Double Demerits this week
The Roads and Maritime Services advises that double demerit points will apply over the Australia Day period from midnight on Tuesday 24 January until midnight on Sunday 29 January 2012.
Celebrating Seniors Week 2012
A great program of events is planned for Seniors Week beginning March 18 including a luncheon at South Hurstville RSL, a visit to the NSW Art Gallery, a trip to Taronga Zoo and a local history tour of Kogarah.
Capture Your World for Harmony Day
Harmony Day celebrates the diversity in our community - the people, the experiences and the places we live, work and celebrate that bring us together. To mark Harmony Day in 2012, Kogarah City Council is holding a photography competition, Capture Your World.
Destination 2036 Action Plan
Last October the Division of Local Government hosted Destination 2036 which brought together leaders from NSW councils to discuss and debate the future of local government. Since then an Action Plan has been developed and is now available for consideration and comment.
Long standing Councillor will be missed
It is with regret that Council advises of the passing of Cr Colin Ritchie on 5 January 2012. Colin Ritchie was a long standing Councillor with Kogarah City Council and he will be dearly missed by Councillors, staff and the community he represented. R.I.P Cr Ritchie.
Celebrate Australia Day at Carss Bush Park
Come along and enjoy Australia Day on the shores of beautiful Kogarah Bay. There will be food and craft stalls, entertainment, children's activities and a fireworks display at 9.00pm!
Chinese New Year in the Town Square
The Kogarah Town Square will come alive with colour and excitement on February 2, 2012 as we welcome in the Year of the Dragon for Chinese New Year.

The City of Kogarah was named Overall Winner of the Keep Australia Beautiful National Sustainable Cities Award on 21 November. Kogarah has been recognised for its tremendous environmental and sustainable initiatives.
