Disability and access
Accessibility is about ensuring that all people have equal access to community facilities and Kogarah services.
Access is important for many people in our community, not just for people with disabilities, but also for the frail aged, parents with prams, and carers.
The
Access Information (45KB) document provides further infromation on why access is important, the legislative frameworks and organisations to contact.
Kogarah Council is strongly committed to ensuring that everyone in our community is able to enjoy the many social, cultural and business benefits of living here, including people with a disability and the local business community.
More than half of people aged 55 years and over have difficulties with mobility, sight and hearing. While they may not consider themselves to have a disability, easier access would be a great benefit.
Missed business
As a small business, quality service is one of the most important things you can offer. This guide aims to help you, the small business owner, understand how to improve access to your goods and services for a large part of our community you may be missing out on - customers who have a disability.
