Mayor's Green Grants Program

2009/2010 Mayor's Green Grants Program

The 2009/2010 Mayor's Green Grants Program was launched on 27 August 2009 by Kogarah City Council Mayor, Nickolas Varvaris.

Applications for the 2009/2010 Mayor's Green Grants are now closed.

Successful grant applicants will be notified on Tuesday 24 November 2009.

What is the Mayor's Green Grants Program about?

  • Would your school like to build an organic vegetable garden?
  • Are your neighbours interested in planting native plants to attract wildlife to the local area?
  • Is your community group inspired to run workshops on sustainable living?
  • Does your business have a great idea to develop a system for reducing energy and water use in your operations?

If you have a great idea to improve our local environment, then Kogarah City Council is offering a small grant to help you get started! This program aims to support community initiatives that address environmental issues such as:

  • Waste minimisation or recycling
  • Sustainable water use
  • Saving energy or greenhouse emissions
  • Improving local biodiversity
  • Education for sustainable living

Funding is open to:

Individuals, community groups, schools, not-for-profit organisations and businesses can apply for this funding. The project must be carried out in the Kogarah City Council local government area.
