Council Childcare Services
Kogarah City Council operates 3 different childcare centres located in Carss Park, Kogarah, and South Hurstville.
Kogarah Council believes that quality early childhood experiences have a profound and lasting impact on their families and the community. Council recognises that empowered family relationships and good quality children's services are fundamental to the development of strong communities.
Our childcare services philosophy springs from a belief that children are competent and capable individuals, who function within a socially driven community of family, peers and educators. This belief guides our practice in the provision of a developmentally appropriate, balanced programme, which focuses on all areas of development - positive self esteem, social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language.
We are committed to creating an environment where the individuality, culture and language of each child and family are respected and valued. We encourage family participation in all aspects of our service. We help children maintain their home language and cultural identity while meeting their other learning needs.
